Kris A. Holm

Kris has been serving clients in the financial and investment industry for over 20 years.  He is the founder of Holm & Cawley Financial Group, LLC.  He has studied and mentored under some of the best and brightest minds in the industry, and obtained extensive experience from nearly every aspect of the business.

Kris began his career in 1991 when he obtained his insurance license from the State of Nevada for whole and variable life insurance policies. Shortly thereafter, he decided to put his new found career on a brief hold while he served his Church.  For the next two years, Kris served a foreign mission in Switzerland, France, and the Provence of Quebec, Canada.  While on his mission, Kris developed his unwavering work ethic and incorporated lifelong principles that have permeated all facets of his person and professional life.

In 1994, Kris obtained his Series 6 and 63 license and began working with the Utah and Nevada branches of Inter Securities Incorporated, a broker/dealer headquartered in Florida.  He later took a position with World Financial Group headquartered in Norcross, Georgia, where he served as a marketing director for Utah and Nevada offices and began developing his own clientele.

In 2000, Kris moved his practice to Sun America Securities, Inc., and joined the Sudol Group based in Las Vegas, Nevada.  There he was instrumental in assisting the Sudol Group in opening and building a successful branch in Las Vegas.  At the Sudol Group, Kris worked with and was mentored by well known industry leaders.

During this time, Kris became very aware of the extensive problems in the industry and the inherent conflicts of interest resulting from rampant hidden fees and large commissions permeating the products sold to clients.  Oftentimes, the large broker/dealers and their top sales people that held designations such as the CFP and others put pressure on advisors to push certain products that resulted in payment of large commissions.  The state of the industry and Kris’ desire to truly serve the needs of clients came into conflict.  He recognized at this early date that the industry would be forced to change out of necessity.  These changes have since been realized by, among other things, the changes to the fiduciary rules governing the industry.  Kris wanted to change his business model to better serve clients and create better investor awareness even if it meant generating less compensation.  Consequently, Kris began laying the ground work to start his own firm offering fee only based advisory services.

In 2004, Kris obtained his Series 22 and 65 licenses and became a Registered Investment Advisor. A few years later, Kris went out on his own and founded Holm Financial Group, which brought together his vision for client service and for a business model focused on fee based advisory services.  The success of Holm Financial Group was immediately realized and the firm has continued to grow since that time.  The growth of the firm included the addition of more partners and the founding of Holm & Cawley Financial Group, LLC, in 2009.

Kris continues to move forward with the vision that created Holm & Cawley.  His ultimate goal is to put client’s interests first by placing them at the top of the food chain and empowering them to successfully plan for retirement and secure their hard earned wealth for themselves and their children.
